Just as Ceasefire was counting down, though, I reached the Mythic age with Hera and got the Lighting Storm god power. Unfortunately, I was slightly late in casting it and the majority of Yuy’s army was killed. When he engaged Yuy’s forces, he cast Flaming Weapons and my ally didn’t have a chance, so Ceasefire was cast by me. We pulled back our remaining forces and Wolf decided to further push his advantage and attacked the center of the map. A Hill Fort was able to be built by Yuy and our troops inflicted considerable casualties against Wolf, but he had Huskarls, Jarls, and Raiders so our mainly Toxote/Taxman army was eventually decimated. The armies demolished his northern buildings, though they were stopped at the main base. Our soldiers were busy engaging his other forces, so he just evacuated his villagers and let Wolf hold the base until we could get enough forces there to take it. However, he sent enough troops down to Yuy’s original base so as to take it. Luckily, we were made aware of this because his town center was seen in the mini-map. While we were building up a base directly south of his town, Wolf built one of his own directly above my ally’s.
I sunk a good number of them, so his food intake was likely hurting him somewhat. Wolf appeared to have a pretty large fishing operation, so I proceeded to harass the boats with my archers. By this time, my military was beginning to appear on the map and I sent everything I trained to Yuy’s second base to fortify it. My ally pulled back as many troops as he could and rebuilt his forward base right behind the ridge that acted as a wall in front of Wolf’s base. Wolf spotted Yuy’s forward base too soon, though, and build up a defense and army himself and destroyed Yuy’s. Yuy, being Loki, decided to try and Classical rush WOLF. Luckily, I read Sando’s Guide to Zeus, so I was a little better prepared that I would have been.
I drew Zeus for my civilization, one I’m only slightly familiar with. 1 Anatolia with myself (Random) and Heero_Yuy (Loki) vs. The first one was slightly unbalanced on my team’s side, but the second one was extremely fun. In the last two games - considering he has an ESO rating of 1950 and is the ladder champion - all of the players were always against him. Near the end of it, I played a couple games with the current ladder champion WK_WOLF. There were a fairly large number of games and participants during the night forum party that I attended, apparently the hour earlier beginning did work in increasing them.
